The Emmons two light semi flush fixture in brushed nickel is the perfect way to achieve your desired fashion or functional needs in your home. The Emmons lighting collection by combines form and function in a traditional empire silhouette. Trumpeted Satin Etched glass shades and a circular finial further enhance the design. Cluster three sizes together in a multi-fixture installation to make a beautifully dramatic statement in the living room, foyer, entryway or family room. The Emmons collection comes in two finishes: Brushed Nickel and Heirloom Bronze. Its assortment includes three-, five- and nine-light chandeliers, one-light mini pendant, three-light pendant, two-light semi-flush mount, one-light wall sconce, and two-, three- and four- light bath vanity fixtures. Incandescent and ENERGY STAR-qualified LED lamping are available, all fixtures are California Title 24 compliant.

Getting the Size Right

• Hanging fixtures: for a dining table, hang the bottom of the fixture 30–36″ above the table. In an entryway, keep at least 7 ft of floor clearance.
• Chandelier diameter: a common starting point is room length (ft) + room width (ft) = fixture diameter in inches.
• Vanity & sconces: mount sconces about eye level (60–66″) and size vanity lights to roughly 75% of the mirror width.
• Outdoor: confirm the fixture’s wet/damp rating and that its scale suits the exterior wall or ceiling — outdoor fixtures often need to read larger.

What is a semi-flush mount and when should I choose one?  

Semi-flush fixtures hang a few inches below the ceiling on a short stem — more decorative than flush mounts, lower profile than chandeliers. Ideal for 8–9 foot ceilings where a full pendant hangs too low but you want more style than a flat flush.

How do I size a semi-flush for my bedroom or hallway?  

Same rule as flush mounts — add room length and width in feet for approximate diameter in inches. Semi-flush designs often have wider shades, so check total height (fixture + stem) to ensure clearance on 8-foot ceilings.

Will semi-flush mounts work on a sloped ceiling?  

Some include a swivel canopy for moderate slopes. True flush-to-slope is rare. Check "Sloped Ceiling Adaptable" — otherwise the stem will not sit vertical and the canopy will show gaps on a vaulted ceiling.

How much light do semi-flush fixtures provide?  

Varies widely — 800 to 3000+ lumens. Open designs with multiple bulbs brighten more than enclosed drum shades. For primary room lighting, target 1500+ lumens or layer with lamps and recessed lights.

Can semi-flush fixtures be used in bathrooms?  

Only damp- or wet-rated models. Many semi-flush designs are dry-location for bedrooms and hallways. Filter by Safety Rating before installing in a bathroom or covered porch.

Do semi-flush mounts include bulbs?

Why do drum shade semi-flush fixtures look yellow or pink in my room?  

Shade material (linen, frosted glass) adds warmth. Bulb color temperature also shifts appearance — 2700K through a cream shade reads very warm. Use 3000K bulbs for a neutral look or choose white glass shades for truer color.

Are semi-flush mounts dimmable?  

If spec lists dimming compatibility and you use dimmable bulbs with an LED dimmer. Bedroom and dining semi-flush fixtures benefit from dimming — especially with drum shades that diffuse light softly.

How heavy are semi-flush fixtures — do I need a special box?
