At over 5 ft in breadth, this large Brutus Pendant makes a bold statement in any space. The Brutalism movement of the '60s and '70s is apparent in this pendant design. Designer Jason Hancock created a complex metal puzzle whose pieces are combined to create a unique, one-of-a-kind lighting fixture. Part of ART + ALCHEMY by Hubbardton Forge.
Getting the Size Right

- Hanging fixtures: for a dining table, hang the bottom of the fixture 30–36″ above the table. In an entryway, keep at least 7 ft of floor clearance.
- Chandelier diameter: a common starting point is room length (ft) + room width (ft) = fixture diameter in inches.
- Vanity & sconces: mount sconces about eye level (60–66″) and size vanity lights to roughly 75% of the mirror width.
- Outdoor: confirm the fixture’s wet/damp rating and that its scale suits the exterior wall or ceiling — outdoor fixtures often need to read larger.
