Getting the Size Right

• Hanging fixtures: for a dining table, hang the bottom of the fixture 30–36″ above the table. In an entryway, keep at least 7 ft of floor clearance.
• Chandelier diameter: a common starting point is room length (ft) + room width (ft) = fixture diameter in inches.
• Vanity & sconces: mount sconces about eye level (60–66″) and size vanity lights to roughly 75% of the mirror width.
• Outdoor: confirm the fixture’s wet/damp rating and that its scale suits the exterior wall or ceiling — outdoor fixtures often need to read larger.

Mini Pendants — Frequently Asked Questions

How many mini pendants should I hang over a kitchen island?  

Space them evenly, one per 2 feet of island length as a starting point — a 6-foot island often gets 3 minis. Keep 24–30 inches between fixture centers. Odd numbers (3 or 5) look more balanced than even counts in most layouts.

How high above the counter should mini pendants hang?  

Bottom of the shade 30–36 inches above the countertop for 8-foot ceilings. Raise slightly for taller ceilings or if tall family members will walk beneath them. Over a sink, ensure the pendant clears the window trim.

Can mini pendants adjust for a sloped ceiling?  

Many include a swivel canopy that tilts to match the ceiling slope so the pendant hangs vertically. Confirm "Sloped Ceiling Adaptable" on the spec sheet. Fixed canopies on sloped ceilings cause pendants to hang at an angle.

What is the difference between mini and standard pendants?  

Mini pendants are typically under 10 inches wide — accent scale for islands, bars, and bath vanity pairs. Standard pendants are larger statement pieces. Minis work in multiples; a single mini over a large island looks undersized.

Do mini pendants include bulbs?  

Varies — check Bulbs Included. Many use E26 or G9 sockets. Integrated LED minis have fixed output and lifespan. Match bulb shape to the shade opening (some narrow shades require small-form LED bulbs).

What lumens do I need from each mini pendant?  

400–800 lumens per pendant for task lighting over a counter. Three 600-lumen pendants give 1800 lumens combined — supplement with recessed or under-cabinet lights for full kitchen brightness.

Why do mini pendant finishes not match my faucet?  

Plumbing and lighting finishes use different manufacturing processes. "Brushed Gold" from a faucet brand may differ from a lighting brand. Order lighting from one manufacturer for the kitchen, or embrace intentional mixed-metal design.

Can I put mini pendants on a dimmer?  

Yes with dimmable bulbs and an LED-compatible dimmer. All pendants on one circuit can share one dimmer if total load is within rating. Smart bulbs offer app dimming without rewiring.

What cord length do mini pendants include?  

Most ship with 3–6 feet of cord or chain — your installer cuts or adjusts to height. Extra-long drops for vaulted ceilings may need extension cords or chains sold separately — check the Maximum Hanging Length spec.

How are glass mini pendants packaged for shipping?  

Glass shades are packed separately with foam inserts. Inspect for chips before discarding packaging. Estimated Ship Date applies to made-to-order glass colors and specialty finishes.
